Our PGA Club Professional Andrew Carr has over 30 years’ experience in the golf industry and has built up a first-class reputation in the North region and Wales. He brings to Prestatyn Golf Club a wealth of experience and knowledge and his professional team of staff pride themselves on a warm friendly welcome and excellent customer service.

Our newly refurbished modern Professional Shop offers a wide range of equipment, clothing, shoes, and accessories at very competitive prices from the leading brands and caters well for both Ladies and Gents.

A member of Foremost Europe’s largest Golf Buying Group we are able to supply most brands and equipment and have a price match promise.

Custom Fitting is available from the likes Ping, Titleist and Cobra using Trackman the industry leading fitting launch monitor providing instant feedback on every shot helping you to choose the right product to suit your game.

Coaching is available 7 days a week and is tailored to the individual’s needs using both the extensive outdoor practice facilities at Prestatyn Golf Club along with technology for video capture with swing and golf ball analysis.

We coach all standards of golfer from beginner to established players and professionals with a proven track record of improvement and enjoyment of the game.

Our approach to coaching is to do whats needed for our clients to improve, this may involve technical elements to the golf swing as well as physical fitness, flexibility, course management, equipment alterations and mental improvements.

Individual and Group coaching is available throughout the year.

The Professional Shop Staff can custom fit you for clubs from most of the leading golf brands including Ping, Cobra and Titleist.

Using Trackman Launch Monitor and software with visual feedback on an iPad screen the ball flight data can then be analysed to select the best suited loft, lie, length, and shaft flex for your game.

Further, greater accuracy of all shots, unprecedented distance control, and greater enjoyment of the game.

A comprehensive Repair and Re Gripping service is available with in most cases a while you wait service.

For hire we have a fleet of buggies and it is advisable to book in advance. In addition, there are trolleys, electric or manual, available for hire at reasonable prices.

Having taken the game up as a junior at the age of 8 Andrew joined Shrewsbury Golf Club where he attained County Junior and Senior Honours. He turned professional at 18 and progressed to being the club assistant completing the PGA diploma qualification.

He established a playing career with some success in both regional and national events.

A move to Meole Brace Municipal and Shrewsbury Golf Driving Range followed working under the guidance of the renowned Professional Ian Doran.

During this time his passion for coaching and retail formed and the role provided valuable experience working at these busy golf facilities.

Andrew became Club Professional at Rhuddlan Golf Club in 1996 the appointment made him one of the youngest professionals in the country to achieve such a role. In 2018 he was promoted to Professional / General Manager a role which provided valuable managerial experience and helped improve the club’s business operation and finances.

In May 2021 Andrew was appointed PGA Club Professional at Prestatyn Golf Club.

The Pro Shop has been re-furbished to a modern standard and stocks new brands and a greater range of products.
